Gibson EDS-1275 Electric Guitars

Gibson EDS-1275 Electric Guitars are a wonderful blending of two guitars – it allows for the user to switch between a 12-string guitar and a six-string guitar without any hindrances. This means that the guitarists have the ability to switch between what would normally be two guitars with only a minimal amount of pause in the music, if any. However, unlike many other guitars, this was a special item that was introduced to the world as a custom special order instrument.

The first Gibson EDS-1275 electric guitars were created in such a way that they had hollow bodies and twin necks for playing. These first models were issued in 1958, but the design had changed in the early 1960s to a solid body design. These are the typical EDS-1275 guitars that people think of when they talk about Gibson EDS-1275 electric guitars. This guitar model has several different controls. The EDS-1275 has two-tone control knobs and volume knobs for each half of the guitar and it makes it much easier to tune. It also comes up with three-way neck and pickup selector switches.

With a scale length of over 24 inches, the necks of the Gibson EDS-1275 electric guitars are topped with rosewood fingerboards and made out of three-piece maple, the body being created out of solid mahogany wood. It has a fixed bridge and has two 490R Alnico magnet humbuckers – one each for the 12 and the 6 string halves. Coming with pearled split parallelogram inlays, the guitar also has chrome hardware and tulip tuners. Gibson EDS-1275 electric guitars have come in a variety of colours over the last several decades, including the Alpine White and the Heritage Cherry colours. No longer regularly produced, it had been a guitar that was used often by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, who used it to switch between 12 string and 6 string guitars without ever having to put the body of the guitar down during a live performance.
