Gibson SG Electric Guitars

Gibson SG Electric Guitars were first introduced in 1961 and are still in production to this day. Essentially designed as a makeover of the traditional Les Paul, Gibson SG electric guitars feature a thinner body with sharp "horns" at the top. The horns provide a double cutaway that both reduces the weight of the guitar body and also allows easy access to the higher frets. In addition, it gives the guitar a slightly sinister look that appeals to hard rockers like Angus Young of "AC/DC", who has a custom model of SG guitar. Jimmy Page of "Led Zeppelin" had a custom double neck SG guitar, which he used to play "Stairway to Heaven."

A recent reissue of Gibson SG electric guitars was based on the Young's custom model. The reissue of the Angus Young signature guitar features a "Signature" treble pickup as well as a "Classic" rhythm pickup for exceptional sound quality.
